Even though I never thought of San Diego as a touristy city, it’s a place which attracts many visitors for its comfortable weather, beautiful coastline, and trendy restaurants. As a San Diegan, here’s a list of our best of San Diego: Restaurant Edition.

Best Brunch: Madison

Chic decor and a delicious drink menu, Madison is a great place for a girls date. From waffle churro sticks to skirt steak bendict, Madison is always a good choice for brunch.

Address: 4622 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92116

Best Poke: It’s Raw Poke Shop

This tiny shop is the only poke shop which reminds me of the poke I had in Hawaii! There’s no seating inside, but it’s within walking distance from the beach. Good food and a nice view, what a combo 🙂

Address: 4991 Newport Ave STE A, San Diego, CA 92107

Best Gelato: Bobboi Natural Gelato

Bobboi never disappoint me. They always have new and unique flavors each time I visit. Some of my favorite are charcoal vanilla and moka.

Address: 8008 Girard Ave #150, La Jolla, CA 92037

Best Cake: Sage French Cake & Coffee

I don’t normally eat sweets, but I will make an exception for a Sage cake. They are moist and not overly sweet. It’s also Jon’s favorite tiramisu place 🙂

Address: 3860 Convoy St #112, San Diego, CA 92111

Best Japanese restaurant: Robataya Oton

Don’t let the parking lot fool you! If you wanted an authentic Japanese dining experience, this is the place. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time for one of those tatami rooms.

Address: 5447 Kearny Villa Rd, San Diego, CA 92123

Best Seafood Taco: Oscars Mexican Seafood

Seating is limited at this place, but there’s plenty of outdoor picnic options nearby such as Kate Sessions Park or La Jolla Cove area. Other than the seafood tacos, fish stew and ceviche are also good to get.

Address: 703 Turquoise St, San Diego, CA 92109

Best Lobster Roll: Lobster West

Generous amount of lobster meat plus buttery brioche bread, what else can you ask for?

Address: 765 S Coast Hwy 101, Encinitas, CA 92024
